If you’re expecting the learn the ultimate fat-loss exercise, or discover the magic bean that melts away body fat or the top ten super foods that you can snack on all day and never-ever get fat – then I have some terrible, awful, no-good, bad news for you.

Getting an EPIC “after” photo is just not that easy…

Now don’t get me wrong, fat-loss is a simple process, you just have to follow a proven strategy – but sticking to something that works is not easy for everyone.

So read on to save yourself a lot of time and money as you discover the seven lessons that people who make lasting transformations pay for with blood, sweat and tears.

1. Learn The Basics And Then DO Them.

There is no substitute for applied knowledge. When we put what we learn into deliberate practice every single day we create ninja life skills that carry us through more difficult times. Habits are one of the most important life hacks that you can use to create the life and body of your dreams.

And the best part is you only have to focus on a little improvement every day. 5 squats eventually become 50 and before you know it, exercise is a daily part of your life and you didn’t even notice the change.

2. Don’t Mix & Match Your Strategy.

Do your due diligence BEFORE you commit to a coach or program or system and then go all in on that program. Don’t be the guy that pays one coach and then emails another coach with a completely different training and nutrition approach for advice on the program that they actually paid for. If you’ve done your research you obviously decided on that coach/program for a reason, so trust them and allow the progress to unfold.

3. Stop Looking For Shortcuts

As long as you’re looking for the next best thing or you’re worried about missing out on a shortcut – you won’t be able to fully commit to making the lifestyle changes you need to make to get lasting results. Stop trying to skip the struggle. Let the hard things be hard and commit to do them well anyway. As the old riddle goes; “How do you eat an elephant? – One bite at a time…”

The faster you realise that there’s going to be real hard work involved the faster you can get in there and start chewing. That’s when you’ll start seeing results.

4. Monitor Your Progress Objectively.

Thanks to the idiocy of the mainstream media most people have absolutely no clue what “good results” actually look like. And so they are unable to appreciate their hard work when it does start paying off.

Women see misleading ads that say things like “Lose 5 kilos this weekend” and then when they work hard, follow a healthy strategy and only lose 1% of their body weight in a week – they get discouraged. When in fact, that’s incredible results for one week of effort.

If you work really hard and then can’t celebrate the first percent of body fat you lose – you’ll find it very difficult to keep moving forward towards your goal. So either start celebrating every cm and ever 0.01 kilo lost on the scale or get a coach that can kick your butt and remind you to celebrate your wins.

5. Advanced Strategies Only Work When…

When YOU are advanced.

Meaning you’re already working hard in the gym and eating all your meals. For example caffeine. When training & nutrition is equal – adding caffeine to your strategy will give you an advantage over someone who doesn’t use it.

Caffeine accelerates fat-loss by increasing fat cell mobilisation and raising your basal metabolic rate so that you burn more calories at rest. Caffeine is also associated with several other health benefits, including increased longevity, anti-depressive effects, improved mental performance, and a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.

But Caffeine will make very little difference if you never move and all you eat is Mac Donald’s. The same goes for things like fasted cardio, carb cycling and any other strategy that can give you a little boost.

6. You Don’t Get To Negotiate With Yourself.

No compromises if you want results. You know what you need to do and you know what cheating looks like. When the novelty of change wears off your mind is going to work overtime to try and get yourself to go back to what’s comfortable and familiar.

But there is nothing that will get you depressed and feeling weak and insecure faster than breaking your word to yourself.

Follow a strategy 100%, get results and then focus on the maintenance aspect of living a healthy lifestyle AFTER you’ve give yourself a foundation of making healthy choices or else progress that only needs to take 8 to 12 weeks will take your 6 to 12 months (or longer) to achieve.

7. Motivate Yourself.

Daily. And hourly if you have to. Motivation is a skill. It is the art of getting yourself to do the things that will move you towards you goal even though you no longer feel like doing the work. And the only way to build that skill is to start today.

After all, if your goals and doing the things it takes to make them a reality don’t excite you – how the hell are you going to stay motivated.

So get out there, pull your dream body out from the ether and into reality.
